Temporary office precinct in Christchurch starts construction
Christchurch International Airport has begun construction of a temporary office precinct on Orchard Road, close to the airport terminal. “We’re providing this facility as a way of
responding to the need of businesses for premises and services since the earthquake,” said Blair Forgie, GM Property and Commercial at Christchurch International Airport.
The first development phase of the office precinct is an 800sqm building due for completion in eight weeks’ time. It will be occupied by House of Travel, who will have 120 employees working from there. The airport company is currently working with tenant interest for a further 3,000sqm of development. The units in the temporary office precinct will be available for up to 5 years.
